Terms That Have Been Conflated with Other Terms

This page is a list of terms that have incorrectly been merged into other terms, by having their definitions used or mixed in with another term's, having their flags treated as alternates for other terms, being treated like alternate names for other terms, etc. This page only contains terms that have been treated as alternate names, had their flags misapropriated, etc. rather than the terms they were enveloped into. Every page listed here has a section within their histories listing what term(s) they were conflated with, how and when that happened, to what extent it happened, and whether or not it was ever corrected.

While this category was created for terms that had this done to them by sites, wikis, individuals, etc. claiming to be or that are seen as authorities on Xenogenders and similar, terms that were conflated by individuals will also be included. This isn't to shame nor direct harassment to them, but to correct misinformation and avoid having terms be incorrectly correlated on more authoritative sources, having them almost be erased, or anything similar.

It will also include terms that have their correlation being more grey for one reason for another. Those pages will have the fact that they're not obviously correlated and may not be seen as correlated by all stated in the way most appropriate to the page.

Name(s) and Definition(s)

Toygender is an Intangigender, Objegender, and Osogender (as well as a Feeligender in the first redefinition) defined as "A gender identity closely connected with childhood, playfulness, and of course, toys! It tends to lean on the soft masculine side of the gender spectrum, though this isn’t the case for everyone using these pronouns!"1

It was redefined as "a soft-masculine-leaning Xenogender that is closely linked with childhood, playfullness, and toys.People under this label feel like their gender and identity is tied with their experiences with toys growing up, or their affinity for toys even as an adult/teen."2

It was redefined again as "a Xenogender that is closely linked with childhood, playfullness, and toys. It can be soft-masculine-leaning, but it doesn’t have to be. People under this label feel like their gender and identity is tied with their experiences with toys growing up, or their affinity for toys even as an adult or teen. People under this label may also feel like they fall under a miniature, simplified, or 'toy' version of a pre-existing gender but cannot relate to the gender in full."3

As of June 13, 2022, Voidgender doesn't have a symbol.

Due to the deletion of the coining blog, two alternate/edited versions of the flag (one pastel and one eyestrain) were lost.

Incorrect Conflation With Gendervoid

For an unknown reason, Voidgender has been consistently conflated with Gendervoid, a term coined years prior, with a somewhat different definition. The conflation of the terms leads to a lack of information that comes up for Voidgender being related to the actual term, rather most of it is related to Gendervoid, leading to the term Voidgender being widely unknown and only publicly being seen as an alternate name to Gendervoid.

It's unknown when the misconception started, nor who started it, however, it clearly goes back years and likely predates the coining of Voidgender, only furthering its obscurity.
