The flag was made by LGBTA Wiki user Ellipsist on September 8, 2020.3
The redesign was made by Mod Hermy at Pride-Flags on Deviant-Art on March 6, 2021.4

Incorrect Conflation With Second Piratecoric
On May 1, 2021, the term was incorrectly conflated with the MOGAI-Monarchs term of the same name by LGBTA Wiki user Reign of the breadsticcs.5
The flag created for this coining of the term was listed as an alternate flag and its definition was used, rather than the somewhat different definition of the other version of Piratecoric. In addition to that, credit for the coiner of this version of the term was completely removed and changed to credit the coiner of the other term.
It is unknown if/when this misinformation will be corrected.
