Flag Meaning: Unknown or nonexistent

Name(s) and Definition(s)

Autigender also known as Autisgender is a Neurogender defined as "autism as part or whole of gender identity; a gender that can only be understood in context of being autistic.
note: only to be used by autistics."1

It was redefined as "a neurogender which can only be understood in the context of being autistic or when one's autism greatly affects one's gender or how one experiences gender. Autigender is not autism as a gender, but rather is a gender that if so heavily influenced by autism that one's gender and autism cannot be unlinked. Since gender is a social construct created by allistics and neurotypicals, and social constructs are one thing that autistic people generally struggle with there are many who may feel like their autism influences their experience of gender enough to identify with this gender. . There are many studies that show that autistic people are more likely to be transgender.

Not all autistic people identify as autigender, only those whose gender is influenced by them being autistic. Autigender is an exclusive gender as, obviously, non-autistic people can not be autigender, because they have no autism to influence their gender."2

It was again, slightly, redefined as "a neurogender which can only be understood in the context of being autistic or when one's autism greatly affects one's gender or how one experiences gender. Autigender is not autism as a gender, but rather is a gender that is so heavily influenced by autism that one's autism and one's experience of gender cannot be unlinked. Autigender can be a stand alone gender or it can be used in combination with another gender (e.g. autigirl, autiboy, autienby, autixenby, etc) to show that one's experience of that gender is heavily influenced by being autistic. One's gender can be influenced by one's autism in many ways. Since gender is a social construct created by allistics/neurotypicals, and social constructs are one thing that autistic people generally struggle with, there are many people who may feel like being autistic influences their experience, perception, or understanding of gender. Autistic people may also face unique challenges in coming out and transitioning. Autigender is a way to express this and to find others with similar gender experiences.

It was redefined a third time as "a neurogender which can only be understood in the context of being autistic or when one's autism greatly affects one's gender or how one experiences gender. It was redefined a fourth time as "a neurogender which can only be understood in the context of being autistic or when one's autism greatly affects one's gender or how one experiences gender. Autigender is not autism as a gender, but rather describes an experience of gender that is so heavily influenced by having autism that one's autism and one's experience of gender cannot be unlinked.

This page has a content warning for a few uses of q###r in the coiner's user name For anyone sensitive to these things, the other pages are free of any similar content.

Name(s) and Definition(s)

Autix is a Neurogender defined as "When your gender or genders are affected by your autism, and your autism affects how you view and precise your gender(s). It changes depending on the person who used it, as one autix person can view gender differently than another autix perosn. Can be modified like autixfem, autixmasc, autixfluid, ect.
Coined as an alt/similar term to autigender, as we don’t really think it covers how different autistic people view their gender and how gender works. It covers more things than people who just have one gender (like fluid, flux, ect genders) and people who still might be a gender or be aligned with masculinity or femininity or neither, but feel like their autism fudementally [sic] changes the way they view it and perceive it."1

It was redefined as "A term umbrella term for any autistic person who feels like their gender is affected by their autism in some way. It changes based on the person who uses it, as one autix person could view their gender differently from another autistic person, even if they have the same gender. It can be used as its own gender (ex “I am autix”) or as a modifier (ex “I am [an] autix nonbinary [person]”), as well as alongside other genders. It can be any alignment, and can be fluid, flux, ect. Obviously, only for autistic people to use! Coined as an alt to autigender."2
