Hotchocolatic incorrectly refered to as Hocogender and Hotchocoan on the Ezgender Wiki¹ is a Gastrongender (as well as an Aerogender, Fluiagender, Fluxiagender, and Simigender in the redefinition) defined as "A xenogender related to hot chocolate."²

It was redefined as "a gastrogender and xenogender related to hot chocolate. This may be a connection to hot chocolate, such as the gender being best described as similar to hot chocolate, or affected by it, for example a gender that is only felt when drinking hot chocolate or one that fluctuates or changes when drinking hot chocolate"³

Hotchocolatic was coined on July 27, 2020, by Mod Mountain at Tumblr blog MOGAI-Monarchs.⁴

It was redefined on November 24, 2021, by Fandom user PansCakes.⁵ The redefinition was originally intended as the definition for a separate term, Hotchocoan, however the coiner designated it as a redefinition/alternate definition upon finding out about Hotchocolatic's existence.

The flag was made by Mod Che at Tumblr blog MOGAI-Monarchs on May 28, 2021.⁶

The redesign was made by Tumblr user Tobastreasury(the redefiner on a different platform) on November 24, 2021.⁷ The flag was originally intended as the original for a separate term, Hotchocoan, however the coiner designated it as a redesign upon finding out about Hotchocolatic's existence.
