Terms That Have Been Conflated with Other Terms

This page is a list of terms that have incorrectly been merged into other terms, by having their definitions used or mixed in with another term's, having their flags treated as alternates for other terms, being treated like alternate names for other terms, etc. This page only contains terms that have been treated as alternate names, had their flags misapropriated, etc. rather than the terms they were enveloped into. Every page listed here has a section within their histories listing what term(s) they were conflated with, how and when that happened, to what extent it happened, and whether or not it was ever corrected.

While this category was created for terms that had this done to them by sites, wikis, individuals, etc. claiming to be or that are seen as authorities on Xenogenders and similar, terms that were conflated by individuals will also be included. This isn't to shame nor direct harassment to them, but to correct misinformation and avoid having terms be incorrectly correlated on more authoritative sources, having them almost be erased, or anything similar.

It will also include terms that have their correlation being more grey for one reason for another. Those pages will have the fact that they're not obviously correlated and may not be seen as correlated by all stated in the way most appropriate to the page.

It was redefined a fifth time as "a gender identity that is associated with one or more colors and the feelings, hues, emotions, and/or objects associated with that color. Color gender appears in multiple ways, such as:

  • Being fluid and constantly changing (genderfluid, genderflux, etc.)
  • Having one color gender (pinkgender, yellowgender, etc.)
  • Having more than one (bigender, trigender, etc.)
  • Having more than one color gender and being fluid (bigenderflux, etc.)

If a person has synesthesia this might also qualify neurogender but there has been no official statement by the color gender community to state synesthesia is a requirement, so for now, this gender is open to anyone. "7

Gastrongender

Name(s) and Definition(s)

Gastrongender is an umbrella term defined as "An umbrella term for any genders related to food or beverages (essentially a replacement term for Gastrogender)"1

History

Coining and Definition History

Gastrongender was coined on September 26, 2020, by Mod Em at Tumblr blog MOGAI-Monarchs2

Flag and Symbol History

As of June 7, 2022, Gastrongender doesn't have a flag.

As of June 7, 2022, Gastrongender doesn't have a symbol.

Incorrect Conflation With Gastrogender

On November 3, 2020,3 the term was incorrectly conflated with the MOGIApedia/MOGAI-Watch gender of a similar name, Gastrogender, by LGBTA Wiki user Ellipist.4

The term was originally incorrectly credited as an alternate name without a link to Gastrongender's coining post, as though it was intended to be an alternate name by the coiner of Gastrogender. While a link to Gastrongender's coining post was added in a February 24, 2021,5 edit to the page made by LGBTA Wiki user Vaporwavejuiice,6 it was still treated as an alternate name.

This misconception has spread past the LGBTA Wiki, with the website termora.org listing the same misinformation.7

A history section was added to the page on August 19, 2021,8 by LGBTA Wiki user Foreigntoolmaker.9 While the section did make note that Gastrogender was coined by MOGAI-Watch and even the coining of a troll term by the same name,10 as well as the coining of Foodic/Genderfood (another term they somewhat incorrectly treated as an alternate name for Gastrogender on the same page), they never acknowledged the coining of Gastrongender,11 clearing up the possible misconception that Gastrogender was coined by Mod Em but furthering the one that Gastrongender is an alternate name for Gastrogender and was intended to be one.

It's unknown where this misconception came from, nor if/when either page will be corrected; though, it does seem unlikely that the LGBTA Wiki page will be corrected, as the most recent edits don't do anything to correct it, and actually further the misinformation.

Mythogender(umbrella term)

History

Coining History

Mythogender was coined on September 27, 2020, by Mod Em at Tumblr blog MOGAI-Monarchs2

Incorrect Conflation With Second Mythogender

On December 9, 2020, the term was incorrectly conflation with a term of the same name, likely coined by a different person, and was treated as though it was a second definition for the other term intended by the coiner.3 This misinformation was posted by LGBTA Wiki user Cryptocrew.

The term was originally incorrectly credited as just a second definition not coined by a different person, as though it was intended to be an alternate name by the coiner of the other Mythogender. While a link to this Mythogender's coining post was added in a February 24, 2021, edit to the page made by LGBTA Wiki user Vaporwavejuiice,4 it was still treated as an alternate definition by that terms coiner.

The combination with the lack of information on the coiner and the only link on the page being to the MOGAI-Monarchs post makes it seem as though that version of Mythogender was coined by Mod Em, rather than being coined by an apparently unknown individual.

It's unknown where this misconception came from, nor if/when the page will be corrected.
