Welcome to Genderpedia, a soon-to-be comprehensive resource of MOGAI genders, from 2000 to present. This website currently has pages for over 3500 genders! This site is run by the moderators from and is associated with the Tumblr blog gender-archival.tumblr.com

Some flags that are hidden in blocks could cause eyestrain and/or seizures for some users. Please don't view them if that could be an issue for you. There are also flags that are hidden due to containing common triggers. Any pages that have flags that are hidden due to triggers rather than eyestrain have the content of the flag mentioned in the content warning.

At the moment, we don't have a system for giving warnings for terms with slurs or other common non-slur triggers in the name. If that could cause an issue, please proceed at your own risk.

The search function on the site is also somewhat broken, it's just a Wikidot thing and there isn't anything we can do about it, so it's often easier to just change the URL to wiki:[whatever you're looking for] and enter that than to search for anything.
Final note: We do not do sexualities/orientations. This is purely an archive for Neogenders, inherently related things (gender natures, suffixes, etc.), and notable coiners/blogs. That's it.

Flag Meaning: browns: top three colors represent a connection to princesshood
light beige represents a connection to non-binary girlhood

Intro

The Princess System is a system of various types of genders that are related to princesshood, princess aesthetics, and nonbinary girlhood. It's one of the largest gender systems within the MOGAI community, largely in part to the 'open' nature of the system with everyone being able to contribute to it. Given the loose nature of the connecting theme of the system, it also has some of the most variety of any MOGAI gender system.

History

Princess System first had terms coined in it on February 10, 2021, by Nico at Tumblr blog Pupyzu.1 Since then, the system has been added to very consistently by Nico and several other Tumblr users, one of the most prominent and prolific being Mason on Tumblr.

The Flags

The Princess System is one of few MOGAI gender systems to not only have a flag format but to have certain stripes of that format always be the same color. This format is three horizontal stripes at the top, the very top one being purple and the next two being pink, getting lighter the further they go down, one stripe that can be any color, a thicker, light brown, middle stripe, and three bottom stripes that can be any other color or colors. The procreate template for the flags was posted to Deviant-Art on April 12, 2021.2

While the Deviant-Art post and the majority of the Princess System posts don't include a color meaning for the pre-set stripes, a number of the original posts for the Princess System did, alongside providing them for the changing stripes.

Naming

While there is very little connection between the names of genders within the Princess System, there is one rule and one commonality. Every gender within the Princess System is suffixed with -cesse/-icesse, ex. Aestheticesse, and most, if not all, of the terms within the system use the base/suffix part of its Prince and Royal System counterparts as its own prefix.
